Daily Pump Trap: 4/3/12 edition

Good morning! Between March 29 and April 2, there have been 84 new positions posted on ACS Careers. Of these, 4 (5%) were academically connected and 57 (68%) were from Kelly Scientific Resources.

Torrance, CA: Medical Chemical Corporation wishes to hire a B.S. chemist for its reagent manufacturing facility in the Bay Area the Long Beach area (thanks, CP!)

Wilmington, MA: The Warner Babcock Green Chemistry Institute is hiring B.S./M.S./Ph.D. organic chemists for both research and scale-up positions.

Birmingham, AL: The Southern Research Institute is hiring organic/medicinal chemistry postdocs. Good times in the Rocket City the Pittsburgh of the South.

Naperville, IL: BP would like to hire a chromatographer for its petrochemical technology unit. LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS techniques desired.

Zeroes!: Promerus, LLC (Cleveland, OH) is looking for a B.S. chemist with 0-4 years of experience with organic or inorganic synthesis techniques. This looks to be a semiconductor industry/clean room-type job.

Chattanooga, TN: Invista is looking for an experienced M.S./Ph.D. polymer chemist with experience in nylon chemistry, analytical chemistry and six-sigma. Translation of "the Voice of the Market" desired, too. (See how I did that with a straight face?)

Little lost lamb: Are you a chemist? Do you like chemistry? Kelly Scientific Resources is searching in the American Chemical Society's careers database for an electrical engineer. (This is an odd position -- sounds like a manufacturing specialist?)

  1. South Bay as in Long Beach, not the SF Bay Area.

  2. Just going to point out that Huntsville is the rocket city not Birmingham.
